TAPS Names Acree to Manage Transit Advertising

TAPS Public Transit, the public transportation service that covers six counties in North Texas, has tapped Acree Creative to revamp its transit media program.

Acree Creative will completely restructure the program that TAPS offers advertisers. Transit advertising opportunities on the system’s nearly 100 vehicles includes exterior signage, interior video and audio, and literature distribution. TAPS buses provide more than 360,000 trips per year and expects to increase that number significantly over the next few months.

Brad Underwood is executive director of TAPS. “Acree Creative is working with us to better define what we have to offer advertisers who want their brand messages delivered over the entire region,” said Underwood.

Dan Acree said, when restructured and deployed, the TAPS Transit Media program will deliver one of the most efficient advertising opportunities in the region. “When you look at a cross-index of the routes, traffic counts, and miles traveled by TAPS buses, you begin to see how using giant graphics and other opportunities on TAPS vehicles will be a smart buy,” said Acree.

Acree said his agency will release details on TAPS Transit Media opportunities and pricing in time for holiday advertising campaigns. Vice President for Account Services, John Ryan, will manage the TAPS account.
