Dan (2nd from right) was a prime force in helping establish Rick Dees (right) in the Los Angeles market when he debuted on then unkown radio station KIIS-FM. Dan created many publicity stunts to get attention for Dees. On this day, Dan talked baseball player Steve Garvey into announcing his retirement from the LA Dodgers and baseball on Dees' show.
